Butt Hinges

A hinge where the pin is inserted into a round barrel. Commonly used on swinging doors. A hinge composed of two plates attached to abutting surfaces of a door and jamb then joined by a pin.
Uses: Door frames, Folding walls, Load bearing points
Piano Hinges And Continuous Hinges

A long narrow hinge with a pin running the entire length of its joint. Used for joining two edges that require support all along their lengths. Continuous Hinges, which run the entire length of the door (a.k.a. as "Piano Hinges")

Living Hinges

Living hinges are thin sections of plastic that connect two segments of a part to keep them together and allow the part to be opened and closed.
